Edward King

Edward King is a Managing Director within Investment Banking at BTIG. In addition to providing senior M&A leadership, Mr. King is Head of the Financial Sponsors Group. Over the course of his banking career, which spans more than 30 years, Mr. King has advised clients and led transaction teams across all major industries and geographies, with clients ranging from global multinationals to startup companies and investment firms of all sizes. Prior to BTIG, he was a Founding Partner at Quintus Partners, an independent merchant bank that provided strategic advisory and private capital raising services to, and invested in, a range of growth companies in the media, technology, and healthcare sectors. Earlier in his career, Mr. King was the Executive Chairman, Global Mergers & Acquisitions, and a Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific Mergers & Acquisitions at Barclays, where he split his tenure between Menlo Park, California and Hong Kong. He was also a member of the Global M&A Management Committee at Barclays. Previously, he spent 11 years at Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong, where he served in several key leadership roles, including Managing Director and the Head of Asia-Pacific Mergers & Acquisitions, Head of Asia-Pacific Financial Sponsors, Head of China Mergers & Acquisitions, and a member of the Global Investment Banking Management Committee. Earlier in his career, Mr. King was a Vice President within Mergers & Acquisitions at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York and Hong Kong. Mr. King earned an MBA from Columbia Business School and BA in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
