BTIG Expands Global Trading Team With Key Appointments – Senior traders hired in Australia and US bolster international equities capabilities


Sydney – December 6, 2011 – BTIG Australia Limited, an affiliate of BTIG LLC, a global financial services firm that specialises in institutional trading and related brokerage services, today announced that it has added two veteran traders to its Sydney-based team.

Leo Borovilas joins BTIG as a Senior Trader on the Institutional Sales desk. Borovilas has over 20 years’ of experience working across Asia Pacific, US and UK markets. Borovilas has previously held senior positions at Austock Securities, Bell Potter and JP Morgan.

Andrew Best joins BTIG as a Senior Trader on the Institutional Sales desk. Best brings 17 years of trading experience with him, having previously held management positions at JP Morgan Securities, Citigroup Global Markets and Macquarie Equities Limited.

Global expansion

BTIG is continuing its build-out of a worldwide trading and sales platform. Having established its presence in Europe and the pan-Asian markets, BTIG is now pushing into Latin America and Canada with further plans for global expansion in the near future.

Today’s announcement follows the recent appointment of Marco Frigeri to BTIG’s New York-based International Equities Desk.

Marco Frigeri joined BTIG as a Managing Director and Sales Trader on BTIG’s International Equities desk. Frigeri most recently traded in international markets for HSBC and has also worked as a Senior Sales Trader at Goldman Sachs and Barclays. He brings 15 years of experience, specialising in Latin American markets.
