BTIG Fixed Income Credit Adds Michael Glickman, James Malley, Richard Roche, Oren Shaked and Clay Stephens to Strengthen Sales, Trading and Strategy


New York – April 28, 2021 – BTIG announced today that Michael Glickman, James Malley, Richard Roche, Oren Shaked and Clay Stephens have joined the firm’s Fixed Income Credit unit as Managing Directors in a variety of roles. Over the past few years, BTIG has significantly expanded and diversified its Fixed Income platform, and now employs more than 40 experienced credit professionals.

Mr. Glickman and Mr. Stephens will join the firm’s Fixed Income Credit Sales team. As Fixed Income Credit Strategists, Mr. Malley and Mr. Shaked will focus exclusively on developing actionable content and market intelligence for clients, while Mr. Roche will be part of the Fixed Income Credit Trading unit, where he will concentrate on executing investment grade products. In their new roles with the firm, they will report into Darren Haines and Michael Carley, Sr., Co-Heads of Fixed Income Credit, at BTIG.

Mr. Glickman has more than 25 years of experience. Prior to BTIG, he was a Managing Director within Distressed and High-Yield Credit Sales at Seaport Global. Previously, Mr. Glickman was a Director within Distressed and High-Yield Credit Sales at Bank of America and a Managing Director of Distressed and High-Yield Credit Sales at Cantor Fitzgerald. Earlier in his career, he held similar roles at UBS and Credit Suisse. Mr. Glickman also spent time at Conseco Capital Management as a Portfolio Manager. He began his career at Prudential Securities.

Mr. Malley has more than 30 years of industry experience. Prior to BTIG, he was the Founder and Chief Investment Officer at Bayfield Court Capital Management. Previously, Mr. Malley was a Portfolio Manager and the Co-Head of Global Credit at P. Schoenfeld Asset Management, and a Portfolio Manager within Distressed Opportunities Strategy at Chilton Investment Company. Earlier in his career, he was a Director within Distressed Debt at Angelo, Gordon & Co., and a Vice President within Distressed Investment at Westdeutsche Landesbank. Mr. Malley began his career as an Associate within U.S. Corporate Finance at Sanwa Bank Limited, and a Senior Accountant within the Financial Service practice at Arthur Andersen & Co.

Mr. Roche has more than 35 years of industry experience. Prior to BTIG, he was a Managing Director within Investment Grade Credit Sales at R W Pressprich & Company. Previously, Mr. Roche was a Vice President and Senior Trader within Investment Grade Corporate Debt at Santander Investments and Mizuho Securities. Earlier in his career, he was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Investment Grade Corporate Debt at Jefferies, and a Managing Director and Co-Head of Investment Grade Trading at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Roche was also the Manager of Market Risk Investment Grade Corporate Debt at Barclays, the Head of Investment Grade Trading at Prudential Securities, and the Executive Director within Investment Grade Corporate Debt at Bear Stearns. He began his career at Prudential Securities, where he spent more than a decade.

Mr. Shaked has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Prior to BTIG, he was Senior Analyst at Newbrook Capital Management, where he covered the consumer sector. Previously, Mr. Shaked was a Managing Director at Global Credit Advisers and Sandell Asset Management. Earlier in his career, he was a Director at Credit Suisse, where he specialized in leveraged loans, high-yield bonds and equities across a variety of sectors including autos, chemicals, consumer products and services, energy and retail, and a Portfolio Manager at Citadel Investment Group.

Mr. Stephens has over 30 years of industry experience. Prior to BTIG, he was a Director within Institutional Fixed Income Sales at Mizuho Securities, where he spent five years. Previously, Mr. Stephens was a Senior Managing Director within Institutional Fixed Income Sales at Gleacher & Company. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns, where he spent 20 years and held several roles in both San Francisco and Chicago specializing in credit products including investment grade, hybrid/preferred securities, high-yield and bank loans.
