Daniel Greenhaus Joins BTIG As Chief Global Strategist


New York – June 7, 2011- BTIG LLC, a global financial services firm specializing in institutional trading and related brokerage services, today announced the hiring of Daniel Greenhaus as its Chief Global Strategist.

Dan is charged with aiding clients in the formulation and implementation of investment ideas through global market and economic analysis. By approaching the investment process with a top-down perspective, Dan is able to produce insightful, proprietary research notes that will help BTIG’s clients allocate capital in a more efficient and productive manner.

Prior to joining BTIG, Dan was Chief Economic Strategist at Miller Tabak. Prior to becoming Chief Economic Strategist, he spent several years in Miller Tabak’s Market Strategy Group working with the firm’s equity and bond market strategists. His primary duties involved formulating top-down macro research related to a variety of markets and economies and applying that research to the investment process. Prior to joining Miller Tabak, Dan was with Credit Suisse First Boston in the High Yield research department and before that, Bear Stearns.

While working with the Market Strategy Group at Miller Tabak, Dan worked closely with Anthony Crescenzi on his many economic and bond market publications, co-authored several research notes and contributed two chapters to Anthony’s most recent book: The Strategic Bond Investor: Strategies and Tools to Unlock the Power of the Bond Market. Dan is now a frequent commentator on Fox Business, Bloomberg TV, and CNBC and is regularly quoted in national publications including the New York Times, LA Times, Investor’s Business Daily, and Wall Street Journal.

Dan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Buffalo and a Masters Degree in Finance and Investments from Baruch College. Greenhaus is a member of both the National Association for Business Economics and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
